Collecting and dieting with Ajoskiro in the Peruvian Jungle

This video documents a deeply personal moment in the Peruvian Amazon, recorded during a dieta with ajoskiro—a traditional healing process rooted in Indigenous Amazonian medicine. During this time, I entered the jungle to collect the very plant I was dieting with, guided by respect for the land and its wisdom. The act of collecting ajoskiro was not about harvesting, but about relationship. It involved moving slowly, asking permission, and listening to the jungle as a living intelligence. In a dieta, the plant is both teacher and medicine, working on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Ajoskiro has long been used by the Ucayali healers for its cleansing and protective properties. Throughout this dieta, it supported my self-healing process, helping me reconnect with my body and restore balance. The jungle was not simply a setting—it was an active participant in the healing. This video is an invitation to witness a moment of devotion, humility, and trust in ancestral knowledge. It reflects my belief that healing unfolds when we honor the plants, the traditions that safeguard them, and our own capacity to listen deeply.
